also I hate hate hate doing this so often, but Im having another health scare 🫠 I’m a disabled trans guy living in the global south, and I had to raise prices for my commissions again because of PayPal’s rising and rising fees- I hate hate hate having my drawings be so expensive bc of how slow I’ve been working. My mom is diabetic and blind, and my dad has a chronic heart condition, and my sister is autistic with a verh low frustration threshold- all the work and earning falls on me n I’ve been having a bunch of panic attacks caving from pressure. Would absolutely love if anyone wirh disposable income could send me a tip, even a dollar makes all the difference, everything goes to my mom’s insulin, diapers, my sister’s food and school fees and my dad’s heart medication and everyone’s medical needs. Outside the clinic there were anti-abortion protesters. Inside, I was stared at, misgendered, and asked intrusive questions about my body. Abortion should be legal, free, and gender inclusive. I made the right decision. I am grateful I chose life. #endthestigma
Attacking abortion is tied to the right’s anti-trans agenda. And cis women cannot win without trans people. Cis-centered feminism is a weakness, not a strength. It is still common for cis women to use biological essentialism to assert themselves. I’m tired of it. #abortionban
I’m currently going through another very serious personal issue. It is dire and taking up most of my attention. But I wanted to share my thoughts and experiences. The #abortionban hurts trans ppl in TX. The subsequent erasure of our needs and lived realities makes matters worse.
As a chronic people-pleaser, this is my advice for success.
Offer as little as possible. Be terse. Get rid of all those exclamation marks and tidbits about why you want to take a sick day. State your needs clearly and concisely without reason. Start saying “No, I’m unable.” more often. Say Thank You only when the other party deserves it.
